Shuffle

Music always makes me think I’m much, much cooler than I really am.  I hear the music and feel it flow through my body and suddenly I’m dancing in my chair thinking I’m JLo with rhythm to rival Will Smith and moves on par with Brittney. I realize after a few seconds I look like a moron; or my coworker's laughing brings it to my attention.

At work, on a plane, at the gym, or in the grocery store, I can usually be found with my ear buds stuck in, humming or singing quietly to myself.

Unless I’m in my car alone.  Then I just let it go, bobbing my head, wiggling in my seat, screaming the lyrics at the top of my lungs, and beating my drum, er...steering wheel.  Yeah, you’re picturing it now, aren’t you?? It’s frightening. Occasionally, I forget the kids are in the car with me, until I look over at my son and he’s wearing that “Oh my god Mom, you’re sooooo embarrassing” smile.

I’m certain I’m not alone when I say my mood can often be determined by what I’m listening to. I like to post song lyrics. Sometimes it's just what I'm enjoying at the time, other times its a reflection of how I'm feeling.

I have my favorites of late, my current "go to" music, mostly consisting of Mat Kearney, Howie Day, Maroon 5, and 30 Seconds to Mars.

Most days, however, I like to put my iPod on shuffle and just listen to whatever random stuff comes up.
